# Welcome to ProductReels

Turn product videos into shoppable reels for WooCommerce and WordPress. Every feature is free.

ProductReels lets you show short vertical videos on your store and connect them to the products in them. A shopper taps a reel, watches it full screen, sees the product card and adds the product to their cart without leaving the video.

You can use it for product demos, customer videos (UGC), tutorials, unboxings, reviews and launch teasers.

{% hint style="success" %}
**ProductReels is completely free.** There is no Pro version, no licence key and no locked features.
{% endhint %}

## A quick example

Luma Skincare is a small WooCommerce store that sells a vitamin C serum. The owner films a 20-second clip of a customer applying the serum and uploads it to ProductReels as a **reel**. They tag the serum product, so a product card with an **Add to cart** button sits under the video.

Next they create a **widget**, which is a carousel holding that reel and five others. They paste the shortcode `[productreels id="3"]` into the homepage. Visitors now see a row of vertical videos, and each one leads to a product they can buy.

The rest of this guide shows you how to do the same.

## Requirements

| Requirement | Minimum                                                    |
| ----------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| WordPress   | 6.6                                                        |
| PHP         | 7.4                                                        |
| WooCommerce | Optional. You need it to tag products and use Add to cart. |
| Elementor | Optional. You need it only for the Elementor widget. |

{% hint style="info" %}
ProductReels works on a regular WordPress site without WooCommerce. Reels, widgets, custom buttons and statistics all work. Only product tagging and Add to cart need WooCommerce.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://bestwpexpert.gitbook.io/product-reels/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
